Guests can enjoy private swimming in our self-contained, indoor, heated pool every day of the year.

Our pool and its facilities are all located on the ground floor, making it ideal for groups or individuals with mobility needs.

HIKING

There are more than 20 excellent walks in and around Haltwhistle and the surrounding area.

The town and its neighboring hamlets are the best possible location to have as your base when you visit and walk out into the surrounding hills, valleys, and riversides.

Hadrian’s Wall, a World Heritage site with a signposted coast to coast footpath, is a short walk up from the town, accessible via the Haltwhistle Burn Footpath or several quiet roads that rise up the hill to the B6318, known locally as the Military Road.

The Roman Army museums of Vindolanda, Housesteads, Chesters, Birdoswald and Carvoran are all nearby.

THE SILL

The Sill National Landscape Discovery Centre in Northumberland National Park’s new visitor attraction and will excite and inspire people of all ages to explore the landscape, history, culture, and heritage of Northumberland.

The Sill features a brand new landscape exhibition, modern learning and event spaces, a local food café, a world-class modern Youth Hostel, a rural business hub, and a shop specializing in local crafts and produce. The Sill is a showcase of local pride and passion and your gateway into the countryside.

FISHING

Just up the road, there is a New Mills Fishing Park

a great place for serious or fun family fishing,

with a great cafe and bistro a few hours well

spent. Great to bring home for the BBQ.
